THESSALONIKI, GREECE - THE MARKET

The central old market of Thessaloniki, known as "Modiano" and "Kapani" is a wonderful place to do one's shopping. Fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, spices, food, clothing, shoes, meats, fish, nuts, sweets, preserves, everything your heart desires. And full of photo opportunities too!

This post is part of the meme 'Walk in the Street'.

Always wonderful to walk along these alleys lined with stores
Quite amazingly, no flies on the meat!
"Cheap, cheap, cheap! Buy it all up!"
Fast food, Greek style: Gyros "Special" and sandwiches with gyros, sausage or meat balls
Culinary herbs or medicinal. The owner is a qualified herbalist and can cure your ills naturally!
Shopping is hard work. Why not stop at the Xenophon Café and have a proper meal?

  6. Great peek into that market place. Much like Pike Place Market in Seattle which I recently visited.
