We watch in horror as the violent clashes on the streets of Athens set fire to history, destroy lives, contribute to loss of civilisation. The common people still suffer as a peaceful demonstration has been converted to a rampage by the few anarchic elements whose aim is to destroy, loot, burn and destabilise. We hope the situation will be controlled that the crisis will be resolved.
A recollection of older times and quieter dispositions when the only enemy of the city was time. An enemy more subtle and gentle, whose embrace meant a soft and mellow death... Here is an old building in the old neighbourhood of Plaka, close to the Acropolis in Athens.

Nick - Linky actually added you twice, so «Louis» removed the duplicate. He doesn't know why Linky was not working correctly. Be that as it may, «Louts» thanks you for this fine contribution to Monday Doorways.
