MADAGASCAN PERIWINKLE

Catharanthus (Madagascar Periwinkle) is a genus of eight species of herbaceous perennial plants, seven endemic to the island of Madagascar, the eighth native to the Indian subcontinent in southern Asia . C. roseus (seen here) goes by its common name "sadabahar" or "sadaphuli" (perennially flowering) in parts of Western India.

  5. The color is beautiful changing with maturity. But i wonder if this is the Catharanthus, i thought this is a Vinca! Catharanthus has almost overlapping petals, although they have almost the same leaves and vegetative habit.
