Six months after Victoria declared a state of disaster to deal with the summer's fires, the dramatic legislation has again come into effect to deal with the "public health bushfire" of coronavirus. It came into effect at 6:00pm on Sunday and can be in place for at least a month. It gives police and emergency services much broader powers to enforce new coronavirus restrictions, including the Melbourne-wide curfew every night. It also gives authorities the ability to suspend Acts of Parliament and take possession of properties...

Klara had a great photo last week, Good choice to feature. While the suspension of freedoms bothers me, at least your city is doing something necessary to combat Coronavirus unlike our government who is doing little or nothing. We now have 4.4 million cases and nearly 155,000 deaths. May we all live through this pandemic safely.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are okay. My heart broke when I heard 27 aged care facilities were affected - we got half our deaths in NSW from 2. I can't imagine what happened in the next 2 weeks in 27. Stay safe and I hope this is a short and successful disease management.
