FIGTREE FUN

This huge ficus tree with its prodigious roots was found in the Yarra Bend Park in Melbourne, Australia. After some playing with Photoshop I obtained some interesting results.

HOME DÉCOR

We saw these home décor accessories in a shop a few days ago. The orange lantern and vase were quite striking, as you can see in the first image, which is straight-out-of camera. I then used the poster edges command in Photoshop and adjusted the brightness/contrast for the second image.

The third image was a further processing of Image 2, with various adjustments to colour and colour balance. The third image was more processing of Image 2, with selective masking and changes in colour balance.

Image 5 is a cut-up combination of several areas of Images 4 & 5.

These apartment buildings are in Melbourne's Southbank. The setting sun toned them with orange, but Photoshop did the rest!

AUTUMN LEAVES

We are experiencing some real autumnal weather in Melbourne at the moment, with cool days, rain and ever-lengthening cold nights. The leaves are turning yellow, orange and russet and are giving lots of opportunities for photography.

DILL FIREWORKS

The first photo is the flowering head of the herb, dill (Anethum graveolens) growing in our garden. I have played with layers and filters in Photoshop in the next two images and have also added some additional material from a photo of actual fireworks in the last image to get the derivatives.
