ORANGE ROPE KNOTS

Remember "Macramé", the old knotted string craft craze? If you do you're showing your age! It used to be widely popular during the 1970s as a means to make wall hangings, articles of clothing, bedspreads, small jean shorts, tablecloths, draperies, plant hangers and other furnishings. By the early 1980s macramé had again begun to fall out of fashion as a decoration trend...

I found this macramé plant hanger in a nursery and it looked quite interesting to photograph. The first image is at it came out of the camera, while Photoshop transformed the remaining images.

This post is part of the Monday Mellow Yellows meme,
and also part of the Mandarin Orange Monday meme,
and also part of the Blue Monday meme.

  4. I like the original..but even better...the progression. The last has elements (the blue facets) of the Aus painter Godfrey Miller - who was a favourite of mine when I was at school. Guess who my other favourite Aus painter was:) ?
Actually...your last is very futurist too.. I also have always liked their work (not their attitudes though!)
    Thanks again for sharing Nick:)
