TREES & SKY

The first image was taken on a sunny Winter's day. A few months later the image was processed with several Photoshop filters to give the following two versions. I usually work through effects using multiple layers, sometimes as many as 20-30, before I arrive at the result I like. The last image with the almost 3D effect was achieved using a blend of blurred and sharpened layers.

  1. The filters in the second two images totally change the feeling of the photo!! The original is a rather bland thing, but the last one, especially, is a real eye-catcher!!

  2. Hi Nick,

I like the first (true) shot. (Of course, you knew I would.) Isn’t it fun finding and playing with blue?

    Happy Blue Monday!

  3. I could reach right into that third picture and touch those red hot branches. I love to play too, so I can see the fun you had here. Nice and interesting outcomes ...

  5. The the image you shared on MoM (the second ) is my favourite. I like the precise line and the colour contrast - dramatic composition too. How on earth do you manage to choose only three from your 20 or 30 combinations??? I do a lot and I also publish too many. You have done well to choose three very good ones....would be curious one time to see the lot! Thanks Nick, for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
